JAZZRADIO.com seeks an experienced Vice President of Product Development who is passionate about technology and music. This senior management role leads the organization’s product development strategy and processes. The VP of Product Development is responsible for developing strategic product plans, creating high-level product road-maps in line with the company’s overall objectives, managing departmental development issues, ensuring accurate milestones and product requirements, and delegating work to the project management leads. This role will be responsible for the supervision of remote teams/individuals working all over the world, and includes staffing duties, training, performance management, work design and direction, and budgeting.


  • Product Strategy: Lead company product development strategy in alignment with business goals, desired customer experience, and overall market opportunity to ensure industry leadership.
  • Oversee key projects, processes, and performance in relation to product planning, execution and deliverables
  • Product and Process Management: Create product plans to achieve organizational objectives. Define and document processes to improve efficiency and quality standards while optimizing product strategy and time to market
  • Lead product development and development teams from initial inception to final product
  • Ensure that products meet the brand standards as well as consumer needs
  • Conduct technical, competitive, and trend analysis to identify and evaluate potential product features
  • Relationship Management: Represent, advocate for and manage product management goals through relationships with industry service providers and associations. Interaction with peers both in and out of the organization to better understand commitments and requirements

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, management, or a related field
  • Agile methodology and Kanban experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of technology management experience and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments in strategic planning and implementation in mid-sized company or division
  • Strategic thinker, able to plan and execute business strategy in the details and big picture
  • Proactive problem solver, who can work collaboratively and independently without direct supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Relationship building both internally and externally
  • Music industry knowledge is a plus but not necessarily required

Telecommute (work from home) from the greater NYC area; our datacenter is in Secaucus, NJ and you will be required to be on-site for emergencies and scheduled maintenance.


JAZZRADIO.com is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator for a full-time position in the Technology group. This is a permanent position with a thriving music company... Also, you get to work from home (for the most part).

We’re looking for a self-motivated Linux guru to secure and maintain our existing infrastructure as well as design and architect for future scale and growth. The ideal candidate will be able to manage their own time (read: working from home isn’t for everyone).


  • System Administration of a mix of Linux and Windows servers (physical and VM). We have over 50 servers running both Ubuntu/Debian/CentOS and Microsoft Windows Servers (2003/2012).
  • On-call as needed, 24x7 support
  • Proactive monitoring of system health
  • Work directly with Engineering Team for supporting/maintaining/designing backend infrastructure for product support
  • Performance tuning, troubleshooting and resolution of server/network issues
  • Disaster recovery design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Build & deploy servers at our datacenter (hands on work)
  • Exploring new technologies and software to improve efficiency and maximize performance
  • Be accountable and manage your own time; we don’t watch the clock, we just want kick-ass work
  • Demonstrate your work regularly to the rest of the team and the rest of the company

Required Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of Linux systems administration
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows system administration
  • Pro scripting skills (bash, sed, awk, go, py, ruby)
  • Security and infrastructure best practices
  • Strong understanding of the HTTP protocol
  • Basic networking knowledge: switching, ip routing, vlan
  • A passion for music (some kind, any kind)

Desirable (but not required) Skills

  • Cisco/IOS administration
  • MySQL tuning and administration (Percona XtraDB, HA Clustering)
  • Reverse Proxy/Load Balancing (Varnish)
  • Linux-HA/Heartbeat
  • Microsoft Exchange/AD/DNS administration
  • Experience with Rails/Passenger
